Mike is an Alaskan dog musher for Jim Lanier’s Northern Whites Kennel. Mike was born in Alaska, but moved away as a young child. He always dreamed of returning and connecting back to the land he was from by doing the most Alaskan thing he could think of: running sled dogs! After moving back to the Last Frontier following college, Mike has trained dogs all over Alaska, including the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, the Fairbanks area and now in Chugiak. He has been working with this team of all-white Alaskan huskies for the past three years in an effort to achieve his childhood dream of competing in the Iditarod. Mike shares his passion for sled dogs and Alaska with his wife Julieann, and children Minka, Tyson, Merrick and Zoey.
